The Northport Golf Club was thrilled to announce our Junior Golf scholarship recipient at the Belfast Area High School awards assembly! This year, we had the pleasure of awarding the scholarship to a remarkable individual who has truly made an impact in our community. As a member of the Belfast High School golf team, our winner has not only demonstrated incredible skill on the course but has also exemplified the values we hope to instill in all young golfers. With every round played, our winner has shown respect for the course and his playing partners, which is a testament to his character and commitment to the sport. In addition to his achievements on the course he was also named to the KVAC Class B all-academic team. The winner of this year’s $750 Junior Golf scholarship is James Ritter.
The Junior Golf Program encourages golfers of all ages to participate in a free junior instructional program by our PGA Professional John Hickson. The program runs for 6 weeks during the months of June and July.
The program has been funded by many generous donations as well as a winter dinner and auction. It is a huge tribute to Northport Golf Club that we have had many donors and volunteers assist in this program. The membership of Northport Golf Club feels very strongly about promoting the game of golf through Junior Golf.
