Last September, we suddenly lost Mike Marshall, a very special member of the NGC community. This year’s Member/Member Tournament on May 21 will be dedicated to his memory. In preservation of that memory, a beautiful granite bench will be unveiled on the twelfth tee where Mike made his one and only hole-in-one in July of 2021.
This elegant bench will reflect the man it acknowledges. Mike was an exemplary member of the Northport Golf Club who contributed in countless ways. His quiet demeanor, fluid swing, and shock of white hair were hard to miss. Beyond any of these physical traits, he was a consummate gentlemen and kind beyond measure.
We know that many of you may want to contribute toward the bench, and encourage you to send a check in any amount made out to Northport Golf Club with “Mike Marshall Memorial” written in the memo section. Because Mike was a strong supporter of the Junior Golf Program, any excess funds will be used toward its support. We’re sure that when you see the beauty, workmanship and thoughtful sentiments expressed in this granite remembrance, you will see reflected in it the man it honors and you will feel proud to have contributed.
