Sue Gordon, NGC Board President, has a new update, all about What is Happening at ”Northport.”
Welcome new members and staff, returning members and staff, and new directors.
Our new Pro, John Hickson has been settling in and looking forward to warmer, drier weather, along with the rest of us. Joining the Pro Shop staff are Ron Tirrell and Tim Riley, a familiar face. Garrett Hamlin and Dennis Nadeau are working on the grounds crew. New members of the Board of Directors are Keith Parker and Kevin Dains. Let’s all make them feel welcome in their new positions.

A little sprucing up:
The aging gray fence at the entrance and along the front of the parking lot will be replaced with cedar split rail fence. The new fence should weather naturally and will not require painting. Work is scheduled for the middle of July.
The porch has been rejuvenated with new chairs and tables donated by the Wednesday night Scotch players.
Open House:
An open house for the new maintenance building will be held on May 22nd after the Member-Member tournament. Come and see the bright, spacious building with mechanical work area and lift, our “new to us” slope mower, a slide show of the project, and enjoy some tasty refreshments. Additional details will be emailed soon.

Bowen Beautification Fund Quilt Raffle

A beautiful quilt made by Joan Bowen is on display in the clubhouse. Proceeds will go to the Bowen Beautification Fund which was established to beautify the course. Joan has dedicated countless hours to planting and caring for many of the colorful plants and shrubs which blossom every year. Raffle tickets are on sale and the winning ticket will be drawn at the Ryder Cup tournament on June 26th.
Tee times:

The spring weather has been a challenge for getting out on the course for a round of golf. Although tee times will not be required until May 20th, please check in at the pro shop before heading out to play.
Enjoy your time on the course!
Sue
