NGC Board President, Sue Gordon, has an announcement:
Greetings Dear Members,
There are some changes coming to Northport Golf Club for the 2022 season. For the last 7 Years, Robb and Paula have put their heart and soul into their work at the club, Robb as Pro and Superintendent, and Paula as Pro Shop Manager.
But, at this point in their youthful lives, they have decided to ease into semi-retirement. Fortunately for “Northport” that does not mean that they are leaving us.
This is not the end of the road, just a turn in the road.
Robb will remain as Superintendent and Paula will continue to help in the Pro Shop. We are extremely grateful that they have decided to stay on at Northport Golf Club.
We are pleased to announce that John Hickson has signed on as our new Golf Pro and Pro Shop Manager.
John grew up in Hampden and graduated from the University of Maine with a degree in Business Management. He has been a Golf Pro for 35 years, working at various clubs in New England and Florida. He has an impressive teaching background and is a certified club fitter. John has won PGA Section Player of the Year 5 times and becomes Northport’s 5th Maine Golf Hall of Fame Pro. He is quite personable and will be a great addition to our team.
We look forward to welcoming John to Northport Golf Club in April.
Special thanks to our Pro Search Committee: Terry Fancy, Jeff Dutch, Terry Whitney, Robb Herron and myself for putting the job posting together, screening and interviewing the applicants, and selecting our new Pro.
See you in the spring!
