President Sue Gordon’s Update

Here is the fall edition of Sue Gordon’s “What’s Happening at Northport?”

Our Olympian

Congratulations to Travis Curtis on winning his 13th consecutive Special Olympics golf championship!  Best wishes for a terrific trip to the Nationals in Orlando.

Chamber of Commerce Nomination

Our golf club has been nominated for the Waldo County Business Award.  This is a great honor for Northport Golf Club. Thank you to all who voted for Northport Golf Club, and the other great businesses in our community.

Project Update

The construction of our new maintenance building has taken longer than expected due to delays in the shipment of its components, but it is almost complete. The electric and lighting are now finished.  This building is 2 ½ times more spacious than the old one!

Settling in for the winter!

The new roll up doors arrived and were installed in early November as planned. They open with the touch of a button and are whisper quiet… a vast improvement over the old arm strong ones 😉

Thank you for your generosity in making the dream of a new building become a reality.  The donor recognition plaque which lists well over 100 donors is on display in the clubhouse.

Real Estate

The board voted to take advantage of the rise in the real estate market, and list the lower lot on Bluff Road.  With the help of Bill Pickford and Lee Woodward, the lot has sold and the transaction has been successfully closed.

New Members

The fall membership promotion has gone well, with 13 new memberships.  Thank you for choosing to play at Northport whether you are a new member, or a not so new member.

Winding Down

As the season has come to an end, please join me in thanking Robb and Paula, who do a fantastic job to keep the course and the club running smoothly and in great shape.  Thank you also to the grounds crew and the pro shop staff and our many volunteers.
