What is Happening at “Northport”

We are pleased to post a second newsletter update from our NGC Board President, Sue Gordon. Thank you for the update, Sue. Also, all of us at NGC would like to send good wishes to Sue as she recovers from shoulder surgery.

Project Update – New Maintenance Building

Steel for the new building arrived on Friday, August 20th! Installation has already started, and is expected to take about a month to complete.  Your patience is appreciated during the construction as you play your round. The new power line has been completed and electricity is once again flowing to the maintenance shed. Thank you to Terry Whitney for loaning his generator while this work was in progress.

The photos below show the construction progress from August 17th to August 26th (click on a photo to scroll through the gallery and see larger versions of the photos):

Feeling Lucky???

The ladies’ group is sponsoring a 2022 membership raffle.  Tickets are $20 each and are available in the pro shop.  You may buy more than one if you wish.  The value of the membership is $650 and may be applied to a couple or family membership if desired.  The drawing will be held at the awards ceremony on September 12th.  In order to hold the raffle, 33 tickets need to be sold.

New Crew

Donnie Pendergast has joined the crew to mow fairways.  Give him a wave if you see him in action while you are out playing. Donnie came on board in July.

Other new staff members are Carla Noyes and Tyler Herron. Carla is helping in the Pro Shop. Tyler is the son of Robb and Paula, and he will be helping out for the rest of the season.  Welcome Don, Carla, and Tyler!

An Unexpected Gift

The club has received a very generous donation in memory of a beloved former member.  The board deeply appreciates this gift and has developed a plan to utilize it for the long-term benefit of the club.

Enjoy your time at the course!
Sue
