Rapid Response Team

Heavy rains on Friday, July 9th, moved the bridge between No. 2 Green and No. 3 Tee off of its supports. There are also some wet areas on the course, and the bunkers will need to be replenished. The course was closed for the day, and this included the driving range, practice green and chipping area. (The Saturday Junior Clinic is not scheduled to meet until the 24th of July)

Robb Herron marshaled a number of volunteers to begin repairs. Alan Blood and Doug Tonner showed up with excavators, and Rick Cronin, Jeff Dutch, and Ken Gordon were on hand to assist as needed.

Putting the Bridge Back in Place

Unfortunately, the fun Caddy for the Shack tournament, scheduled for Saturday afternoon, was also cancelled. The committee will meet this week to discuss the logistics of rescheduling, and finishing the Silent Auction. In the meantime, you still have time to make a bid on the items located in the banquet room at the Pro Shop.

The sun was out on Saturday, and the course was drying out. It is expected to be open on Sunday, July 11th. In spite of a few problem areas, the course still looks great, as you can see from these shots taken at No. 3 and No. 2 green:

A big thank you to all who came out to help, and to many others who called the Pro Shop to see if more volunteers were needed.
